Motivational Book Reveals Philosophy of Finding Purpose in Life

Norfolk, NE (PRWEB) August 01, 2011

The recent meteoric rise in popularity of the Law of Attraction has spawned a number of books and films on the subject. With Moments of Forever: Discovering the True Power and Importance of Your Life (published by iUniverse), a book which explores the reasons why people struggle to control the direction of their lives, Bill R. Path has unwittingly found a devoted audience comprised of Law of Attraction buffs and people searching for meaning and purpose in their lives.

I was not seeking the Law of Attraction audience, but it would appear that the Law of Attraction audience found me, says Path. It cannot be denied that Moments of Forever, while an intellectual exploration of metaphysical concepts, also delivers a powerfully uplifting and inspirational message to readers.

People who are searching for direction need a map that is easy to read and easy to followa directory that is written in uncomplicated terms, using familiar images and landmarks, says Path. People need a map to help them put their lives into perspective.

While providing guidance, Moments of Forever seeks to redefine readers perspectives of the power and purpose of life by asking them to consider the significance of moments. When we choose to make enough moments significant, says Path, the hours, days, and years of our lives become significant. Path hopes his readers find inspiration to achieve their aspirations with Moments of Forever.

Moments of Forever was selected for inclusion in the iUniverse Star program, which recognizes excellence in writing.

Newport News, VA (PRWEB) March 1, 2006

New Book Indexes the Bible by Topic

Gaffney, SC (PRWEB) September 29, 2011

Terry R. Trammells new book, New King James Topical Index: Old and New Testaments (published by WestBow Press), makes finding certain topics in the Bible simple and easy by presenting readers with a straightforward index to guide them.

Trammell wrote New King James Version Topical Index to help people quickly and easily locate where certain topics are located in the numerous pages of the Bible a text which can sometimes be dauntingly difficult to grasp. It is perfect for scholars of the Bible, people in Bible colleges, or anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of biblical topics. Trammell sees this as a time saver in comparison to concordances which index the Bible by words rather than topics.

This New King James Version Topical Index covers all 66 books of the Bible, including both the Old and New Testaments. Readers will find that all the books will have a heading, a sub-heading, a list of the topics that are within that particular book, and the page number of where that topic begins. Trammell has been using this index and has found it quite helpful. He is sure it will help others in their studies of the Bible, as well.

About the Author

Terry R. Trammell earned her masters degree in theology from Christian Life School of Theology in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Trammell was born in Union, South Carolina and resides in Gaffney, South Carolina with his wife, Ann, along with their two children and their spouses, and their grand-daughter. He is a professional truck driver, but he hopes to retire and use his time helping the hungry and the homeless.

New Release Simplifies Catholic Churchs Views on Homosexuality; Book by James B. Lloyd

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 02, 2011

The goal of this book, written by a licensed psychologist whos also an ordained Catholic priest, is to clarify the position of the Catholic Church on same-sex attraction homosexuality. The provocative book attempts to present truth with charity, understanding and kindness and show compassion to all people to clear up misunderstanding and confusion on the gay lifestyle in society and within the church itself, as well as clergy. The author also presents a case for the virtue of chastity, both inside and outside, and its beauty.

Catholicism and Same Sex Attraction examines the Catholic catechism and official church documents and their views on homosexuality, as well as the theological, psychological and social consequences of same-sex behavior. The author delves into life-changing questions: Can someone be homosexual and a practicing Catholic at the same time? Can gays really hear Catholic teaching? And is morality generational or innate? As with many weighty questions, not all have a clear-cut answer. The author uses church teachings, statistics and studies to back up his claims, showing his compassion and experience in ministering to people with same-sex attraction and his desire to help lead them to a life with Christ.

Author James B. Lloyd is a Paulist priest ordained in 1948. Licensed to practice psychology in New York State, Lloyd has a Ph.D. in psychology from New York University. Archbishop Dolan appointed him to function as the archdiocesan courage representative for ministry to same sex attracted Catholics. Lloyd served as a missionary in South Africa, taught in the Paulist Information Center in New York and moderated a television program for 15 years. Lloyd was president of St. Peters College in Baltimore and directed the graduate division of pastoral counseling at Iona College.

The Cat in the Hats Learning Library Book Series Comes to the App Store

Encinitas, CA (PRWEB) November 16, 2011

Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Random House Childrens Books and Oceanhouse Media, Inc. today announced plans to bring Random Houses bestselling Beginner Book franchise The Cat in the Hats Learning Library to Apples App Store. The first omBook (Oceanhouse Media digital book) in the series is Theres No Place Like Space!, now available at the introductory price of $ 3.99.

This marks a continuation of our terrific partnership with Oceanhouse Media, said Susan Brandt, President of Dr. Seuss Enterprises. As theyve done with the original Dr. Seuss books, Oceanhouse Media has taken this collection and developed apps that promote education and encourage children to be curious about the world around them, all in the spirit of Dr. Seuss.

Aimed at children ages five to eight, The Cat in the Hats Learning Library is a nonfiction series that appeals to childrens natural curiosity and engages them in the process of scientific exploration and discovery. The titles explore a range of subjects, including dinosaurs, pets, marine life, trees and outer space and feature classic characters from the original The Cat in the Hat The Cat, Sally, Dick, Thing One and Thing Two, and even the fish!

The distinctive non-fiction features of these bookswith their sidebars and diagrams and glossarieslend themselves brilliantly to interactivity, said Kate Klimo, Vice President and Publisher, Random House/Golden Books for Young Readers Group, Kids, parents, and teachers have wholeheartedly embraced the books and are going to love these apps as well!

In Theres No Place Like Space!, the Cat in the Hat takes Sally and Dick on a trip through the solar system. They visit each of the planets, learning key facts along the way. As children explore this animated omBook, they will discover special interactive learning moments that reinforce specific topics. Users can tap stars in the sky to reveal constellations; learn the order of the planets in our solar system through a Seussian mnemonic device; search the night sky with a telescope; find hidden information cards from Thing One and Thing Two; and even access an instant glossary by tapping on highlighted words.

We are honored to work with Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Random House to create interactive childrens apps that focus on education, said Michel Kripalani, President of Oceanhouse Media. We recognize theres a fine line between educating and entertaining in the digital medium. When done properly, these two areas can be combined to create a terrific learning experience for kids.

Theres No Place Like Space! features two options: Read To Me, which allows users to listen to the narrated story with words highlighted as they are read; and Read It Myself, which lets users read the book in its traditional format. Special features include original artwork, picture/word association, word highlighting, definitions for key words, professional audio narration and scene-by-scene custom background audio.

Additional omBooks based on The Cat in the Hat's Learning Library books will be released in the coming months. Oceanhouse Media currently has made available over 20 of Dr. Seusss classic books as apps, including The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham.
